Iggy and the Stooges

Iggy and the Stooges perform the influential albumRaw Power in its entirety at Moscow’s Milk Club.

The band are now touring the album worldwide, 36 years after the original, disastrous tour of the US on its release.

The Stooges released two albums of primordial rock ‘n’ roll before going off the rails after the 1970 release of Funhouse.

Two years later, with David Bowie’s help, the band bounced back to release Raw Power. Tense and intense, the album featured new guitarist James Williamson’s aggressive and malevolent guitar riffs over the stone-age rhythm section, acting as a perfect foil for Iggy Pop’s crazed inspiration.

The Stooges successfully re-united in 2005. After the death last year of original guitarist Ron Asheton, Williamson has stepped back into the limelight alongside Iggy.
